Imagine the Seven Network being the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) for an hour and a half? This is interesting, a movie without commercial breaks. Interesting fact, in September 2019, during broadcasts of a mini-series titled Secret Bridesmaids’ Business, they ran 4 ad breaks totalling 1 minute each, so when the break comes on, the 1 min countdown would begin, right after Matt Wills (the person doing the voiceover for many Seven programs’ respective promos during ad breaks) famously said: “We’ll be back in 60 seconds.” A ticker then appeared on the screen with the seconds counting down, simulating a streaming-style experience as if you saw it on 7plus. In fact, the ad breaks actually ran for 1 min 5 secs each because of that 5-sec reminder about them returning in 60 seconds, together that brought it all up to 4 mins 20 secs in total. I tuned in for one of those broadcasts of Secret Bridesmaids’ Business at the time after discovering they ran 1 min ad breaks, and only at the very final ad break (I think) did the ad break duration run as normal (est. 3 mins). Interesting history as always, thanks for posting this zampakid. ❤

Hey Zampakid been meaning to get a hold of you..the full bulletin from Hendos last night at TCN9 back on 29.11.02 that someone thankfully uploaded to UA-cam is gone! The video has been removed! I hope someone has a save or copy from this legendary man's last bulletin. I couldn't believe it... genuinely mad it's been taken down. You wouldn't happen to have any of it in your collection would you mate?

If there's one constant throughout the entire history of Australian television, it's that the schedules have always featured an over-abundance of films. Which isn't a bad thing at all, in fact.

Three sitcoms, a comedy-drama and a game show. Now this is my kind of television! Too much reality and crime crap these days, I want back to 2000.

I loved this so much when I first saw it and it still never gets old. I know two of the shows in those clips. No. 4 is the animated 'Peter Pan' and No. 6 is 'Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends'. But I don't recognise the other four.

I love how at 0:00 they end up attacking the other commercial networks for lacking Hinch. Anyway, Derryn Hinch actually hosted his nightly program on the Seven Network (Prime in regional areas) from 1987 until 1991, when he then moved to Network Ten (also syndicated on their regional affiliates, mostly Capital Television stations) to continue his show there from 1992 until it ended in 1994. Also, on regional networks, why was Nine and Seven shown? It should’ve been WIN and PRIME, as that was what they were in the early years of regional television. Very interesting. One last thing, do you have the commercials from this tape? Would love to see them. Thanks zampakid. ❤

Great upload Dan, i remember watching that particular airing on Madeline back in 2003, also, do you reckon Channel Ten would've aired The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland around this time? Cause it came out in '99 and it was made by Columbia, so it would make sense if they did, just filling in the gaps 🤟
